Seminary Wives Discipleship

The Master's Seminary has a ministry for the wives of the students. It's called Seminary Wives Discipleship. It's purpose is to implement the principles in Titus 2:3-5. I love this special time on Wednesday nights. We are assigned to "tables" for the year (2 semesters). At each table is a leader, usually a pastor's wife, elder's wife or professor's wife from Grace Community Church/TMS. We learn valuable biblical principles in the area's of being a godly women, wife, mother and a pastor's wife. We, seminary wives, have an opportunity to get to know the leaders, who are eager to help us learn and grow. I'm not sure if I could have made it through seminary this far without this ministry. I've benefited greatly and I'm sad that I can only attend 1 more year. I thank God for all the godly women who have taught and influenced my life for the Kingdom of Christ Jesus my Lord !!

This year I was at table 1 with Mrs. Barbara Barrick. Her husband is a professor at TMS and they served on the mission field for 16 years translating the Bible. I had the privilege of assisting Mrs. Barrick this year and learned a lot from her leadership. Here is our awesome group of women!!

The Masters Seminary Banquet

Jason and I enjoyed our 3rd seminary banquet this year. Each year it's wonderful and we have such a great time with our TMS family. It's held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. The Library is on a mountain over looking the valley. Breath taking view, trust me, the sun set is gorgeous!! This year our special guest was Fernando Ortega, a christian artist. I'm sure you've heard of him. He preformed for us and it was wonderful. Jason and I had the privilege to meet him and get some pictures with him. You'll find these at the bottom along with my comments. You also get to see a few of our sweet friends. If you turn up the volume on your computer you will hear him singing. This was a lovely night :)

This is Fernando Ortega. He currently lives in New Mexico with his wife and baby girl.

His old manager/friend, Randy, asked for my camera. He took a few shots of us just talking with Fernando. Thanks Randy!!

Fernando wrote a song called "Virgina Rose" and he mentions Tupelo, MS in the song. We asked him to tell us the story behind the song. No, he has never been to Tupelo. The song was about his close friend that took a bus from Tupelo going home. He missed his daughter, Virgina Rose, and that's the short story behind the song.

I have to tell you that Fernando is the most soft spoken man I've ever met. He is very kind and makes you feel like your the only person in the room. A lot like Pastor MacArthur.
